True Love Retreat Weekend
What you can expect
Really connect with your partner
In a fast-paced world, it can be tough to find the time to connect in a meaningful way. How often do you put off spending time with the people who matter most—assuming they will be there later, when life slows down a bit? Make this choice often enough, and the intimacy and connection can fade and we start to lose each other.
Could you use an opportunity to experience a nurturing and meaningful connection with your partner in a supportive setting? While even positive change can be challenging at times, this workshop offers a friendly and safe environment—which can make all the difference—it is relevant, entertaining and gentle in spirit.
I enjoyed the intentional, comfortable intensity of two days focused on our marriage. It was a great weekend!
Gain the skills to resolve problems quickly
You will gain skills to gracefully handle whatever comes up, and be more empowered and effective at finding workable solutions on your own. While this might appear daunting at first, it is typically a richly satisfying and affirming experience. Many couples are amazed at how simple it is to get to a new place with issues that have festered unresolved. The right support and context makes all the difference—bringing relief, and a sense of freedom and renewal.
My parents can fight now, get over it and still be loving.

Supports all your relationships
Your ability to relate to other family members, friends and colleagues will be enhanced as you deepen your listening skills and your ability to speak effectively for the things that matter to you. Your freedom to be authentic is increased, opening more room for you to relate in a way that is consistent with your values and aspirations.
Education, not therapy
This is education, not therapy. You will learn a series of skills that build on each other throughout the weekend. We begin by describing the rationale and application of a specific tool. Then we model its use with whatever issues are current for us at that time.
Most people describe witnessing the successful and real working through of a challenge as being one of the most useful aspects of the course. Being able to observe a new activity before engaging with it yourself greatly speeds up assimilation and integration.
Then you will have the opportunity to practice the tool, in private, with your partner. None of your work with your partner will be witnessed by other participants.
I learned an amazing collection of great practical tools I can actually use and that are working for me in my close relationships. My only regret is not having these skills a long time ago
Reconnect with goodwill around the tough issues
We offer personal coaching to support your process. We will be focused on helping you keep your communication simple and productive. Often a surprisingly powerful background of goodwill emerges, where your own brilliance and creativity can work wonders, even with previously intractable issues.
When I am feeling inarticulate and withdrawn, and my partner needs communication from me, it is a huge relief to be able to rely on a simple structure to give her what she needs in a way that works for me.
Reignite the pleasure
However, the primary focus of Basic True Love is not solving problems. The work of problem-solving only makes sense if you also get to have fun together and experience each other as a source of pleasure and delight.
The foundation of this fresh beginning is mastering simple, effective and enjoyable ways to maintain connection even when (especially when) you are otherwise busy, preoccupied or stressed. With a background of goodwill and positivity, everything becomes much easier.
We are meant to be sources of pleasure, comfort and companionship for each other. Anything less is a cause for regret.
Created a miracle in our relationship.

Transform your love, transform your life...
I saw that you were perfect and so I loved you. Then I saw that you were not perfect and I loved you even more.
True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being.
True love is inexhaustible; the more you give, the more you have... at the true fountainhead, the more water you draw, the more abundant is its flow.
—Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.
